JD100: Drawing Techniques
The tools and techniques for drawing, sketching and tracing are introduced and practiced. These include enlargement, reduction and application of creative variation to jewellery lines, use of basic forms and combinations of these techniques to rapidly produce creative, unique pieces of jewellery!
JD100: Rings with Gemstones, Pendants and other designs
Differences between the varieties of pearls readily available in the market today are identified. Origins of some of the most beautiful specimens as well as common imitations and tests are covered. South sea, Japanese and Chinese pearls are closely inspected.
JD100: Settings and Findings
Settings and findings keep the gem on the metal and the jewellery attached to the wearer. Learn about the hundreds of types of findings designers use, and many exciting ways to set gemstones into your jewellery designs.
JD100: Drawing Gemstones
Master drawing all the common gem cuts in all three views. Understand when to use faceted, cabochon and fancy shape gems and how to use common length-to-width ratios for most typical cuts create perfect gemstone designs.
